Game recap: Wilcox High School Football Team tops Fremont

SANTA CLARA, Calif. - the Chargers had a big 21-point second quarter on Saturday, sealing a 40-0 victory over Fremont (Sunnyvale, Calif.).

Wilcox scored on a touchdown run by Delshawn Mitchell, a Kenny Dipko touchdown run and a defensive touchdown in the quarter.

After taking the lead on a Sione Finefeuiaki touchdown run in the first quarter, WHS was up 33-0 at the half.

Wilcox's standout player in the win was Finefeuiaki. He ran for one touchdown. He has now scored seven touchdowns on the season.



The Chargers came in allowing an average of 22.8 points per game this season. The defense really stepped up, holding the Firebirds well below their season average of 8.0 points scored per game.

Wilcox (5-1) goes up against Mountain View in a De Anza game matchup next week, while Fremont (0-6) locks horns with Santa Clara also in a De Anza game.
