Football Game Preview: Desert Pines Jaguars vs. Las Vegas Wildcats + How To Watch

The Desert Pines Jaguars will square off against the Las Vegas Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.

Desert Pines is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Nevada's top teams: Green Valley, who was ranked 21st at the time (Desert Pines was ranked 17th). The Jaguars and the Gators were almost perfectly matched up on Friday, but the Jaguars suffered a 19-18 loss. Despite 92 more yards than the Gators, the Jaguars couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.

Desert Pines' defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Jerome Sequeira, who rushed for 76 yards and two TDs on only ten carries, and Marcus Williams, who gained 202 total yards.

Meanwhile, Las Vegas strolled into their game on Friday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They came out on top against Canyon Springs by a score of 14-7. The 14-point effort marked the Wildcats' lowest-scoring contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Desert Pines better keep an eye on Tanner Vibabul. He was instrumental in Las Vegas' win, rushing for 81 yards and one score, while also throwing for 176 yards and one touchdown. The bulk of those rushing yards came from one huge play: a run that gained an incredible 52 yards.

Desert Pines' loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Las Vegas, their win bumped their record up to 7-0.

Desert Pines couldn't quite get it done against Las Vegas in their previous matchup back in September of 2024 as they fell 31-21. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Vibabul, who rushed for 99 yards and one TD on only ten carries, and also threw for 150 yards and one touchdown.
