Soccer Game Preview: North Gaston vs. Crest

North Gaston hasn't had much luck against Crest recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Wildcats will be playing at home against the Chargers at 5:30 p.m. North Gaston has given up an average of 4.5 goals per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

North Gaston fell victim to South Point and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They lost 10-0 to the Red Raiders. While losing is never fun, North Gaston can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 441st, while South Point are ranked 62nd).

Meanwhile, after failing to score in their last contest, Crest made sure to put some goals up on the board against Huss on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by an 8-1 margin over the Huskies. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 4-1.

Crest's victory bumped their record up to 5-7-3. As for North Gaston, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-10-2.
