Softball Game Preview: Howland Tigers vs. Alliance Aviators

The Howland Tigers will head out on the road to face off against the Alliance Aviators at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Howland is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.

On Tuesday, Howland came up short against Padua Franciscan and fell 10-7.

Howland saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Maya Kubancsek, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. Madison Schmitz was another, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one double.

Meanwhile, Alliance came up short against Marlington on Tuesday, falling 15-1. The loss continues a trend for the Aviators in their meetings with the Dukes: they've now lost eight in a row.

Howland's defeat dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Alliance, their loss dropped their record down to 5-10.

Howland was able to grind out a solid victory over Alliance in their previous matchup back in May of 2023, winning 15-11. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
