Recap: Skyline Grizzlies vs. Bonneville Bees
Even though the Bonneville Bees scored an imposing 63 points on Friday, the Skyline Grizzlies still came out on top. Skyline secured a 68-63 W over Bonneville. Given Skyline's advantage in MaxPreps' Idaho basketball rankings (they are ranked 18th, while Bonneville is ranked 66th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Skyline got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Shay Shippen out in front who dropped a double-double on 28 points and 17 rebounds. Shippen is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 15 or more in the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Kysa Shippen, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds.
The victory makes it two in a row for Skyline and bumps their season record up to 14-5. As for Bonneville, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Skyline will take on Blackfoot at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Blackfoot focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up five on Friday. As for Bonneville, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Idaho Falls at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
