Volleyball Recap: Pahokee Blue Devils vs. Lake Worth Trojans
Pahokee was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Lake Worth Trojans. The Blue Devils were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Trojans earlier this season, when they won 3-2.
Pahokee took Lake Worth into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking eight-point loss. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-13, 23-25, 17-25, 15-7.
Lake Worth can attribute much of their success to Ileysha Rodriguez, who had 17 aces, three digs, and two blocks. Those two blocks gave Rodriguez a new career-high. Nancy Garcia Chun was another key player, getting eight aces.
Pahokee's defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Lake Worth, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-11.
Pahokee has already played their next match, a 3-1 win against Glades Central on the 30th. Lake Worth has also already played their next matchup (against Boynton Beach), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
