Baseball Recap: Valor Christian Extends Home Winning Streak to Four

Valor Christian had won four straight at home, but on Thursday they bumped their record up to 9-10 to make it five. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Ralston Valley Mustangs a 6-0 shutout. The victory continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Mustangs: they've now won six in a row.

The team relied heavily on Trystan Chadwick, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. He has become a key player for Valor Christian: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 5-10 otherwise.

As for Ralston Valley, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-8. The shutout was out of character for they seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in March.

On Ralston Valley's side, they got a good showing from Porter Peonio, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Peonio has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in eight consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Ralston Valley saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mason Gilbreath, who went 1-for-2 with one double.
