Basketball Game Preview: Lutheran Lions vs. Air Academy Kadets

The Lutheran Lions will square off against the Air Academy Kadets at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Lutheran has six straight victories, Air Academy has six straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Last Thursday, Lutheran got the win against Lewis-Palmer by a conclusive 63-40. Given the Lions' advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 17th, while the Rangers are ranked 79th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Air Academy lost to Palmer at home by a 66-49 margin on Monday.

Lutheran's win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.0 points over those games. As for Air Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-18.

Everything came up roses for Lutheran against Air Academy in their previous meeting back in January, as the team secured a 60-31 victory. Does Lutheran have another victory up their sleeve, or will Air Academy turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
