Recap: Brookfield Warriors vs. Valley Christian Eagles
The Brookfield Warriors's 18-6 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They took a 60-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of Valley Christian. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Brookfield's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Matteo Fortuna, who scored 25 points along with nine rebounds and four steals. Fortuna is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last 12 games he's played. Another player making a difference was Riley Russo, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds.
Brookfield has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season. As for Valley Christian, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-5.
