Recap: Palmetto Tigers vs. Southeast Seminoles

The Palmetto Tigers won the last time they faced the Southeast Seminoles, and things went their way on Tuesday too. Palmetto secured a 46-40 W over Southeast. Given Palmetto's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 160th, while Southeast is ranked 522nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Palmetto found their leader in underclassman Brooke Brinker, who scored 12 points along with five assists. Those 12 points set a new season-high mark for her. Solaura Glover was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with six rebounds.

Despite the loss, Southeast still got an impressive performance from Gabriela Morales, who scored 26 points. Morales scored a full 65% of Southeast's points, the seventh time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.

Palmetto's win bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Southeast, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Palmetto will take on Sarasota at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Averaging 62.1 so far this season, Sarasota's high-powered offense has been in full-swing lately, so Palmetto better be ready for a challenge. Southeast and Manatee will face off at 6:00 p.m. on December 14th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Manatee's defense has only allowed 22.1 points per game this season, so Southeast's offense will have their work cut out for Southeast.
