The Northern Patriots are taking a road trip to take on the St. Mary's Ryken Knights at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Northern is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.8 runs per game this season.

Northern's last matchup with Chopticon could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's contest on Monday. The Patriots lost 7-1 to the Braves. The loss continues a trend for the Patriots in their meetings with the Braves: they've now lost seven in a row.

Northern saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Delaney MacAulay, who went 2-for-3 with one double. Brooke MacAulay was another, scoring a run and stealing two bases while getting on base in two of her four plate appearances.

Meanwhile, St. Mary's Ryken entered their tilt with The Academy of the Holy Cross on Monday with four consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with five. They put the hurt on the Tartans with a sharp 14-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Knights, who have now won six games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Lacey Jones and Mikaela Guy made a big impact no matter where they played. Throwing, Jones tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Guy kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 12 over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances. At the plate, Jones scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3, while Guy scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances. That's the most runs Jones has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Ava Chadwick was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Myla Harding, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

St. Mary's Ryken's record now sits at 10-3. As for Northern, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-4.

Northern couldn't quite finish off St. Mary's Ryken in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 and fell 6-4. Can the Patriots avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
