It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Pinecrest Academy Sloan Canyon can now relate to. They had to suffer through a 97-39 loss at the hands of the Mater Academy East Las Vegas Knights. While losing is never fun, the Pirate can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nevada basketball rankings (they are ranked 66th, while the Knights are ranked 11th).

Mater Academy East Las Vegas' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Lonnie Bass led the charge by dropping a double-double with 29 points and 13 rebounds. The matchup was Bass' fourth in a row with at least 21 points. Another player making a difference was Miles Williams, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and 14 assists.

Pinecrest Academy Sloan Canyon's loss dropped their record down to 13-10. As for Mater Academy East Las Vegas, they are on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 16 games, which provided a nice bump to their 18-6 record this season.
