Plainfield South is a perfect 10-0 against Romeoville since May of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Cougars will host the Spartans at 4:30 p.m. Romeoville took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Plainfield South, who comes in off a win.

It was a proper cat-fight when Plainfield South challenged Wheaton-Warrenville South on Saturday. The Cougars walked away with a 9-4 victory over the Tigers. The game was the first time the Cougars have beaten the Tigers on their field since March 31, 2022.

Meanwhile, Romeoville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They lost 11-1 to Oswego. That's two games in a row now that the Spartans have lost by exactly ten runs.

Delany Giacomo was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season.

Plainfield South pushed their record up to 15-11 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Romeoville, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-14.
