Baseball Game Preview: Sam Houston Broncos vs. West Monroe Rebels

The Sam Houston Broncos will square off against the West Monroe Rebels on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Sam Houston comes in on three and West Monroe on 19.

Sam Houston is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They beat St. Amant by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 6-2.

Meanwhile, West Monroe was able to grind out a solid win over Oak Grove on Monday, taking the game 7-3.

Ryder Dejean and Larson Brock did most of the damage at the plate: Dejean went 1-for-2 with three RBI and one double, while Brock went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Those three RBI gave Dejean a new career-high.

West Monroe's victory was their 17th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 26-7-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.6 runs over those games. As for Sam Houston, their record now sits at 31-7.

Sam Houston suffered a grim 7-1 defeat to West Monroe when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can the Broncos avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
