Recap: Morning Star Academy Mustangs vs. Quad Cities Christian Eagles
The Morning Star Academy Mustangs lost against the Quad Cities Christian Eagles back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Morning Star Academy took a 47-34 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eagles. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Morning Star Academy in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now lost five in a row.
Despite the loss, Morning Star Academy saw an underclassman step up: Addison Smith scored 16 points along with five rebounds.
Quad Cities Christian's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Raegan Ochkie, who almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Kennedy Ochkie, who scored 12 points along with four steals and four blocks.
Morning Star Academy's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-11. As for Quad Cities Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 19-4 record this season.
Morning Star Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Quad Cities Christian and the Falcons will face off at 5:00 p.m. on February 1st without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Faith Christian has struggled recently with six defeats in a row, while the Eagles will arrive with six straight victories.
