Basketball Recap: Palmetto Christian Academy Comes Up Short

Palmetto Christian Academy lost against Bishop England back in January of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Palmetto Christian Academy had to suffer through a 62-34 loss at the hands of Bishop England. Palmetto Christian Academy has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the defeat, Palmetto Christian Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Anna Grace Works posted five points in addition to 13 boards and four steals. Another player making a difference was Audrey Bright, who scored five points.

Bishop England was led to victory by Olivia Allen and Ella Runkle. Allen almost dropped a double-double with 21 points and nine rebounds, while Runkle shot 70% from the field en route to 17 points and seven boards. Those 17 points gave Runkle a new career-high. Elisa Artigues was another key player, putting up four points.

Palmetto Christian Academy now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Bishop England, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Palmetto Christian Academy will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Cardinal Newman at 6:30 p.m. on December 2. As for Bishop England, they are taking a road trip to face off against Hanahan at 7:00 p.m. on December 1.
