Basketball Game Preview: Rensselaer Central Bombers vs. Chesterton Trojans

The Rensselaer Central Bombers will square off against the Chesterton Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Rensselaer Central is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past West Lafayette, posting a 66-34 victory. The Bombers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 26 points or more this season.

It was another big night for Brodie Radtke, who went 7-for-11 en route to 21 points. Thanks to that strong game, she now owns an excellent 48.2% field goal percentage. Another player making a difference was Kamri Rowland, who shot 40% from the field to rack up 15 points and five rebounds.

Rensselaer Central was working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as West Lafayette only posted three.

Meanwhile, Chesterton was able to grind out a solid win over Lake Central on Wednesday, taking the game 32-24. The 32-point effort marked the Trojans' lowest-scoring matchup of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

The victory made it two in a row for Rensselaer Central and bumps their season record up to 5-1. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 46 points in those games. As for Chesterton, their victory bumped their record up to 5-2.

Rensselaer Central was able to grind out a solid win over Chesterton in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, winning 53-42. Do the Bombers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Trojans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
