Volleyball Recap: Harlingen Comes Up Short

It was a proper cat-fight when Harlingen duked it out with Edinburg on Tuesday. The Cardinals fell just short of the Bobcats by a score of 3-2. The Cardinals were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bobcats apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Harlingen actually scored more points across those five sets (100-96), but sadly they still had to settle for second. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 12-25, 25-21, 25-17, 19-25, 15-12.

Edinburg was led to victory by Ellie Garza and Ayla Rangel. Garza had 26 digs, while Rangel had 15 digs. Those 15 digs gave Rangel a new career-high.

Harlingen's defeat dropped their record down to 10-9. As for Edinburg, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-13 record this season.

Harlingen has already played their next game, a 3-1 loss against Veterans Memorial on the 23rd. As for Edinburg, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against San Benito on the 20th.
