Basketball Recap: Cook Comes Up Short

Cook came up into this matchup off a tough 26-point loss last Thursday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Pierce County Bears by a score of 41-39 on Friday. The Hornets were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bears earlier this season, when they won 36-31.

Cook has also traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-12 record this season. As for Pierce County, their victory bumped their record up to 4-16.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cook won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Berrien at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Cook is facing Berrien at the right time seeing as Berrien is stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Pierce County, they and Brantley County will face off at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played.
