Baseball Game Preview: Adelanto Saints vs. Barstow Aztecs

For the second straight game, Adelanto will face off against Barstow. The Saints will challenge the Aztecs at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Adelanto has three straight wins, Barstow has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Adelanto is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Barstow 14-3 on Wednesday. The Saints might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matches by six runs or more this season.

For Barstow's part, Santiago Lopez was huge no matter where he played even without the win. On the mound, he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave Lopez a new career-low in walks (zero). He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Lopez wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Joseph Hererra, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Barstow's defeat dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Adelanto, their victory bumped their record up to 7-8.
