Basketball Recap: Cristo Rey Fort Worth Takes a Loss

Cristo Rey Fort Worth was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 12th straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a blow against the Joshua Christian Knights, falling 70-5. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Knights this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 69-16 last Tuesday.

Joshua Christian's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Macey Kiser, who went 9-for-14 to rack up 21 points along with eight boards and six assists. Kiser has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last nine times she's played. Riley Hanks was another key player, going 6-for-9 on her way to 16 points in addition to seven rebounds and four steals.

Cristo Rey Fort Worth's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Joshua Christian, their record is now 9-7.

Coming up, Cristo Rey Fort Worth will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Community Christian at 5:00 p.m. As for Joshua Christian, they are taking a road trip to face off against Providence Prep at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Joshua Christian's defense has only allowed 29.6 points per game this season, so Providence Prep's offense will have their work cut out for them.
