NorthWood turns things around after tough road loss

Recap: NorthWood Panthers vs. Concord Minutemen

There's no place like home for the NorthWood Panthers, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road on Tuesday. They walked away with a 38-30 victory over Concord on Friday. The win was just what NorthWood needed coming off of a 66-29 defeat in their prior match.

It was another big night for Claire Payne, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 14 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Haylee Heflin, who scored 9 points.

Concord's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Shelby Emerick, who scored 12 points along with 6 assists, and Dominique Stilley who scored 10 points along with 6 rebounds. Emerick scored a full 40% of Concord's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.

Concord struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as NorthWood pulled down 12.

NorthWood has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season. As for Concord, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. NorthWood won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Jimtown at 7:45 p.m. on December 2nd.
