Basketball Game Preview: Hebron Hawks vs. Guyer Wildcats

The Hebron Hawks will venture away from home to face off against the Guyer Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Last Friday, Hebron was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 61-57 to Marcus.

Meanwhile, Guyer came tearing into Friday's match with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 18.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Cowboys by a score of 56-44. Given the Wildcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked seventh, while the Cowboys are ranked 180th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Guyer has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 17 of their last 19 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 22-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.1 points per game. As for Hebron, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-10.

Hebron was dealt a bruising 77-34 loss at the hands of Guyer in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. Can Hebron avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
