After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Kaiser, Eisenhower was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out the Colton Yellowjackets 2-1. That's more bragging rights for the Eagles, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Denzel Sahagun made a splash while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over seven innings pitched. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

In other batting news, Daniel Mendez was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Jason Thomas was another key player, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one RBI.

The victory snapped Eisenhower's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 2-12 record. As for Colton, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Eisenhower will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Arroyo Valley at 3:45 p.m. on the 31st. The Hawks have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.27 runs per game on average), something the Eagles will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Colton, they will challenge Fontana at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday.
