Football Recap: Blackhawk Comes Up Short

Blackhawk lost against North Catholic back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The match between the Cougars and the Trojans didn't end well, with the Cougars falling 65-49. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

When it comes to explaining why Blackhawk lost, don't look at Brayden McCarthy. Despite the final result, he rushed for 301 yards and three scores while picking up 13.1 yards per carry. McCarthy's longest rush was for an incredible 85 yards.

Blackhawk now has a losing record of 1-2. As for North Catholic, they pushed their record up to 3-0 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Blackhawk will challenge Southmoreland at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 920 yards in their previous games. As for North Catholic, they will take on Quaker Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The contest will give the Trojans their first taste of in-conference action this season.
