Softball Game Preview: Vale Vikings vs. Yamhill-Carlton Tigers

The Vale Vikings will venture away from home to face off against the Yamhill-Carlton Tigers on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Vale is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They never let Burns get on the board and left with a 10-0 win. Winning may never get old, but the Vikings sure are getting used to it with their sixth in a row.

Meanwhile, Yamhill-Carlton got the win against Harrisburg on Wednesday by a conclusive 10-0. The victory continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won three in a row.

Vale pushed their record up to 17-3 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Yamhill-Carlton, their win bumped their record up to 18-8.

Vale might still be hurting after the 6-0 loss they got from Yamhill-Carlton in their previous matchup back in March of 2018. Can the Vikings avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
