Softball Recap: Green Hope Has No Trouble Against Cary

Green Hope won the last time they faced Cary and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Falcons were the clear victors by a 20-9 margin over the Imps. The result was nothing new for the Falcons, who have now won five matchups by ten runs or more so far this season.

Rachael Baldyga made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched four innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off three hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple.

In other batting news, Ainsley Campbell was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing four bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 1.1 stolen bases per game. Kai Alesio was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

Green Hope was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .455. They are 5-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

The win got Green Hope back to even at 7-7. As for Cary, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-10.

Green Hope didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 13-5 loss against Jordan on the 10th. Cary has also already played their next contest (against Apex), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
