Basketball Recap: East Laurens Continues Home Dominance on Friday

East Laurens extended their home winning streak to five games thanks to a huge performance from Jayla Givens. The East Laurens Falcons walked away with a 79-69 victory over the Dodge County Indians on Friday thanks in part to Givens, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 14 rebounds. What's more, she also racked up six steals, the most she's had since back in February of 2024.

Mckayela Tanner was another key player, going 7 for 15 en route to 18 points and six assists. The game was her fourth in a row with at least ten points.

East Laurens has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.9 points per game. As for Dodge County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-8.

East Laurens has already played their next contest (against Treutlen), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Dodge County wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 52-37 loss against Vidalia on the 18th.
