Softball Recap: Deer Park Comes Up Short

Deer Park dropped their record down to 18-2 on Friday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Pullman Greyhounds by a score of 10-9. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Stags, who until this matchup were averaging 3.35 runs allowed.

Jillian Marshall made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with three runs and one triple. Another player making a difference was Sammy Fausti, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

As for Pullman, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a massive bump to their 10-8 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.9 runs over those games.

On Pullman's side, Taylor Cromie was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Bailee Randall was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.

While Deer Park had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
