Basketball Recap: Spring Takes a Loss

Spring lost to Dekaney back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Lions took a 77-64 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wildcats. The Lions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Spring still got an impressive performance from Jaylan Tran, who almost dropped a double-double with 17 points and nine steals. Tran has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Dillon Beal, who posted 14 points in addition to five assists and five rebounds.

Spring's loss dropped their record down to 16-14. As for Dekaney, their victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-7.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Spring is set to face off against their familiar foe Nimitz at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Dekaney will square off against rival MacArthur at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
