Volleyball Recap: Luther Starts Season with Victory at Home

Luther took care of business in their home opener (barely) on Tuesday. They won by a set and slipped past the Mauston Golden Eagles 3-2. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Knights also won the last time the pair played back in August of 2023.

Luther was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. The match finished with set scores of 23-25, 25-19, 20-25, 25-22, 15-8.

Kamryn Anderson was nothing short of spectacular: she had 19 digs and two aces. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in assists (six).

Anderson wasn't the only good server: Luther was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 13 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in ten consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Coming up, Luther will square off against Black River Falls at 7:00 p.m. on September 4. As for Mauston, they will take on Reedsburg on Tuesday.
