Volleyball Recap: Highlands Ranch Comes Up Short

Highlands Ranch was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Ponderosa Mustangs. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Falcons of the 3-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 18-25, 25-13, 25-11.

Talan Polk paced Highlands Ranch's offense, picking up nine kills. Polk were helped by Derek Pierce and Kyle Feddler, who contributed nine assists each.

Highlands Ranch's loss dropped their record down to 1-11. As for Ponderosa, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-7.

Looking ahead, Highlands Ranch will be playing in front of their home fans against Centaurus at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Falcons are facing the Warriors at the right time seeing as the Warriors are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Ponderosa, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-1 defeat against Discovery Canyon on the 11th.
