Oak Grove had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. Everything went their way against the Satsuma Gators on Friday as they made off with an 8-1 victory. Considering the Tigers have won 18 contests by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Brody Black made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching seven innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Wiley Hicks, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three stolen bases, and three runs. He is on a roll when it comes to home runs, as he's now launched at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Jay Fuller was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Oak Grove was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .414. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in 11 consecutive matchups.

Oak Grove's record is now 28-3. As for Satsuma, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 22-12.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Oak Grove beat the Gators by a score of 13-0 on Saturday.
