Football Game Preview: Hackensack Comets vs. Barringer Blue Bears

The Hackensack Comets will challenge the Barringer Blue Bears on Friday.

Things were looking good for Hackensack after they put the first points on the board on Saturday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They lost to Ridgewood at home by a 20-6 margin. The Comets have struggled against the Maroons recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Barringer). They really took it to Kennedy for the full four quarters, racking up a 34-0 win. The high-scoring effort was just what the Blue Bears needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.

Barringer's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Hackensack, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3.

Everything came up roses for Hackensack against Barringer when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 42-0 win. Will the Comets repeat their success, or do the Blue Bears have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
