Football Recap: Worcester Tech Has No Trouble Against Ayer Shirley

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Bartlett, Worcester Tech was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They strolled past the Ayer Shirley Panthers with points to spare, taking the game 17-0. For the Eagles, this counts as revenge for the 18-6 victory the Panthers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in November of 2023.

Worcester Tech found their leader in sophomore Ryan Gallagher, who threw for 181 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also rushed for 42 yards. A healthy portion of Gallagher's aerial production (85 yards to be exact) went to Joel Rodriguez.

Worcester Tech has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. As for Ayer Shirley, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Worcester Tech will head out to square off against North at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Ayer Shirley, they will venture away from home to take on Murdock at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Panthers will be up against the Blue Devils' rather soft defense (which has allowed 33.71 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
