Softball Recap: Porter Ridge Takes a Loss

Porter Ridge and South Caldwell squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Porter Ridge had to settle for second. They lost 14-2 to the Spartans. The Pirates were not able to make up for their loss to the Spartans from their previous meeting back in May of 2015.

This is the second loss in a row for Porter Ridge and nudges their season record down to 8-13. As for South Caldwell, they pushed their record up to 25-2 with the win, which was their tenth straight at home.

Porter Ridge does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for South Caldwell, they will square off against Hough on Friday. The Spartans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Huskies have averaged an impressive 10.7 runs per game this season.
