Baseball Game Preview: Anna Rockets vs. Indian Lake Lakers

The Anna Rockets will take on the Indian Lake Lakers at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday. Anna will be strutting in after a win while Indian Lake will be coming in after a loss.

Anna took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Houston a 12-0 shutout. Considering the Rockets have won five games by more than nine runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Indian Lake was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-1 heartbreaker at the hands of Graham Local. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since April 19, 2023, but that streak is no more.

Indian Lake saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Madden Lillard, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base. Brady Golliday also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Indian Lake's loss dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Anna, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 10-6 record.

Anna skirted past Indian Lake 7-5 in their previous meeting back in April of 2023. Will the Rockets repeat their success, or do the Lakers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
