Baseball Recap: Interlake Extends Road Winning Streak to Six

Interlake won the last time they faced Evergreen and things went their way on Monday too. The Saints walked away with a 6-2 victory over the Wolverines. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Saints.

Eric Wallin looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has become a key player for Interlake: the team is 10-2 when he allows at most one hit, but 4-5 otherwise.

At the plate, Sam Haufe and Alex Diaz did most of the damage at the plate: Haufe went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI, while Diaz went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Wyatt Tang was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Interlake was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .423. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Evergreen only posted a batting average of .208.

Interlake pushed their record up to 14-7 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Evergreen, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-6.

Interlake does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Evergreen, they are taking a road trip to square off against Lindbergh at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
