Basketball Game Preview: Phillips Wildcats vs. La Lumiere Lakers

The Phillips Wildcats and the La Lumiere Lakers will compete for holiday cheer at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Phillips comes in on four and La Lumiere on three.

Phillips is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They walked away with a 74-62 win over Westinghouse on Wednesday. With that victory, the Wildcats brought their scoring average up to 50.9 points per game.

Phillips got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Dajia Cohen out in front who went 9 of 12 on her way to 24 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Nila Willis, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 boards.

Meanwhile, La Lumiere didn't have too much breathing room in their match against South Bend Adams last Tuesday, but they still walked away with a 55-51 victory.

Phillips is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.6 points per game. As for La Lumiere, their win bumped their record up to 3-0.
