Softball Recap: Rosebud-Lott's Losing Streak Snapped at Seven Games

Rosebud-Lott had to endure a seven-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They were the clear victor by a 20-3 margin over the Bartlett Bulldogs on Friday. The Cougars' offense finally found a way to get into gear: the high-octane performance was a 180-degree turn from their last seven games.

Mekenzie Scheler made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits. Those hits marked the first that she allowed this season. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.

In other batting news, Brooke Skala was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, six RBI, and two runs. Those RBI were her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Brynlee Laperouse, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs and four RBI.

Rosebud-Lott always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .759. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Rosebud-Lott's victory bumped their record up to 2-7. As for Bartlett, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Looking ahead, Rosebud-Lott will host Thorndale on Monday. The match will give Thorndale their first taste of in-conferenceaction this season. As for Bartlett, they will take on Granger at 11:00 a.m. on Monday. Bartlett has given up an average of 16.7 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
