New Prairie came out on top against Chesterton on Saturday thanks in part to Ava Geyer's efforts. Geyer was dialed in as she struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and not a single walk). She played a big game the last time she faced Chesterton back in April of 2024, so the team probably should've seen her coming. Geyer has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.

Geyer's strong effort led New Prairie over Chesterton and she'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
