Basketball Recap: Trevor Hyde's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Churchill County over Fernley

Churchill County lost against Fernley back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Churchill County Greenwave fell 54-41 to the Fernley Vaqueros.

Churchill County lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Trevor Hyde, who posted seven points and five rebounds. Thanks to that strong game, he now owns an excellent 45.2% field goal percentage. Wyatt Peek was another key player, putting up 11 points.

It was another big night for Sheldon Jacobson, who almost dropped a double-double with 22 points and nine boards for Fernley. The match was Jacobson's fourth in a row with at least 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryce Dunagan-Stephens, who put up 11 points.

Churchill County has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 13-12 record this season. As for Fernley, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 18-6.

Churchill County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Fernley, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 70-55 win against Hug on the 10th.
