Volleyball Recap: Vanlue Takes a Loss

Vanlue lost against Pandora-Gilboa back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Wildcats fell 3-1 to the Rockets. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Vanlue started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 20-25, 25-8, 25-15, 25-14.

Madi Brooks paced Vanlue's offense, picking up seven kills. Brooks got some help from Adrienne Phillips and her 15 assists. Ali Brooks controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Pandora-Gilboa found their leader in sophomore Annabelle Benton, who had six digs and four aces. Those four aces set a new season-high mark for Benton. Ashley Draper also deserves some recognition as she had her first dig of the season.

Vanlue's loss dropped their record down to 2-15. As for Pandora-Gilboa, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season.

Vanlue has already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Hardin Northern on the 4th. As for Pandora-Gilboa, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Columbus Grove on the 4th.
