Soccer Game Preview: Carlisle vs. North Cross

The Carlisle Chiefs will square off against the North Cross Raiders at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Carlisle got their first taste of in-conference action on Thursday and they started things off strong. They blew past Miller School of Albemarle 6-3. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Carlisle.

Meanwhile, North Cross' match on Tuesday was close up to the half, but then they kicked things up a notch. They put the hurt on New Covenant with a sharp 4-1 win. The victory continues a trend for North Cross in their matchups with New Covenant: they've now won seven in a row.

North Cross pushed their record up to 10-2-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those four games. As for Carlisle, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Carlisle suffered a grim 10-0 defeat to North Cross when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Chiefs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
