Softball Recap: Glacier Takes Down Ranked Sentinel

Glacier faced Sentinel in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Wolfpack put the hurt on the Spartans with a sharp 12-3 victory. The Wolfpack might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten games by nine runs or more this season.

Olivia Gibbons made a splash while hitting and pitching. She tossed 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. What's more, she posted five strikeouts, the most she's had since back in April. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

In other pitching news, Ava Grady looked comfortable as she pitched 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than one walk in ten consecutive appearances.

Back at the plate, Cazz Rankosky was a standout: she got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Aubree Gerber also deserves some recognition as she hit her first doubles of the season.

Glacier is on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 15 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.4 runs over those games. As for Sentinel, their loss dropped their record down to 12-11.

Glacier has already played their next match, a 9-5 victory against Gallatin on the 23rd. Sentinel does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
