Softball Recap: Monticello Continues Home Dominance on Friday

With a playoff win on the line, Monticello rose to the challenge on Friday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Brookville Bees a 1-0 shutout. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Mustangs.

Monticello pushed their record up to 19-4 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.3 runs on average over those games. As for Brookville, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-8 record this season.

Monticello will face off against Turner Ashby at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Knights will roll in looking for their 13th straight win, something the Mustangs surely won't give up without a fight. Brookville does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
