Baseball Recap: Newark Comes Up Short

After flying high against Midlakes on Tuesday, Newark came back down to earth. The Reds fell 13-10 to the Screaming Eagles on Thursday. The Reds were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Screaming Eagles earlier this season, when they won 17-3.

Newark saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Devin Littlefield, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. Another was Keane Brady, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Newark's loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Midlakes, their win bumped their record up to 2-5.

Looking ahead, Newark will be playing at home against Palmyra-Macedon at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Reds' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Red Raiders have averaged an impressive 10.4 runs per game this season. As for Midlakes, they are taking a road trip to challenge Waterloo at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday.
