T.C. Roberson is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 11 runs on Wednesday, they were much more limited against Enka on Friday. They came up short against the Jets, falling 11-0. The contest marked the first time this year in which the Rams were not able to get on the board.
Meanwhile, Brevard made easy work of East Henderson on Friday and carried off a 14-3 victory. Considering the Blue Devils have won five matchups by more than ten runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Emily Hoxit spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on four hits.
At the plate, Brevard let Leah Cabe and Evie Allison run wild. Cabe went 2-for-4 with five RBI, two runs, and one stolen base, while Allison got on base in all four of her plate appearances with four runs, two stolen bases, and two RBI. Those four runs gave Allison a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Rogers, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
The win made it two in a row for Brevard and bumps their season record up to 6-10. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 3 runs in those games. As for T.C. Roberson, their loss dropped their record down to 5-8.
T.C. Roberson got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in March against Brevard by a conclusive 12-2 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rams since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
