Volleyball Recap: Dixon Falls to New Bern in First Game of Season

Dixon unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They came up short against the New Bern Bears on Tuesday, falling 3-0.

While Dixon ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 17 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-17, 25-20.

Leading New Bern to victory were Gabrielle Pidgeon and Allie Tuzo. Pidgeon had 11 digs and four aces, while Tuzo had nine digs and three aces.

Looking ahead, Dixon is headed away from home for the first time to face off against White Oak at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for New Bern, they will host Ashley at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
