Football Recap: Nandua Comes Up Short

After soaring to 41 points the game before, Nandua was a bit more limited in their matchup on Friday. They were outmatched by the Washington Jaguars and fell 36-7. The last quarter was a mere formality, since the game's final score was reached by the end of the third quarter.

Washington found their leader in sophomore Shawnell Jones, who rushed for 63 yards and one score on only five carries, and also threw for 118 yards and a pair of touchdowns. A healthy portion of that aerial production (84 yards to be exact) went to Kaiden Collins, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

Nandua's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Washington, they picked up their first home victory, bumping their record up to 2-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Nandua will welcome Isle of Wight Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Washington, they will square off against Arcadia at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
